Ultramarine flott-up's are new soft foam pop-up in ready to cut lengths, available in luminous and red.

These can be added to any pre-made rig by simply threading the pop-up down your hook and on to your snood line as if it were a worm. These are a fantastic invention allowing rigs to be changed from static to popped up in seconds on the beach, without the need to cut off hooks or tie knots.

When targeting species such as garfish, I like to use the pop-ups close to my hook, for this type of fishing the pop-ups must be soft as biting downs on hard pop-ups feels unnatural and deters the garfish from taking the bait any further.

Soft pop-ups are made of foam so like a sponge, they take on water and within a few casts they are useless, the innovative designers at ultramarine tackled this problem by adding a soft plastic skin that, even after cutting to length, keeps the foam from absorbing water and keep your bait where you want it.

I love these and am totally convinced they will be as deadly in the winter months as they are in the summer , really looking forward to trying them for Pout in readiness for the winter matches on my local beaches . I found cutting each length in half gave me two perfect sized pieces for Garfish, Mackerel and Scad, giving me 20 pop-ups out of one packet.

These pop-ups are awesome, an important part of successful match angling is the ability to change things rapidly on the beach , staying with the fish from start to finish , these pop ups give me instant options.

Since using these pop-ups I have found I have hooked far more garfish, finicky bites that used to come to nothing now result in more fish on the beach.
